NorthWest K9's Fausto is a drivey 14-month old, male German Shepherd dog with a beautiful black and red saddle stock coat, deeply pigmented mask and eyes, and full dentition. A handsome young male with wonderful expression, Fausto is a closely-coupled dog with a muscular, compact working physique built for speed and power. He has an intense focus on the handler. His enthusiasm for learning is taking Fausto quickly through his foundation tracking, obedience, and agility training. Fausto is a natural retriever with a pronounced drive for the ball and tug play. He is developing his command facility including sit, down, crate, wait, leave it, heel, jump up, jump down, such, seek it, give, and more. Early foundation footstep tracking (sod and dirt; temperature range 38F-78F; some crosswind; dry/dew/rain) demonstrates a strong work ethic and deep nose. Initial runaway mansearch in the forest demonstrates a balanced use of ground tracking and trailing skills with successful find. Activities on a variety of surfaces and heights, including suspended and moving materials, shows a sure-footed neutrality. He's at ease in public crowds, vehicular traffic, and retail environments. Gunsureness tested. Fausto is a great traveler and is good to go in the house, crate, or outdoor kennel. When in training or play he's all drive and energy, and he settles quickly when required. He's well socialized to all manner of people, other dogs, and domestic livestock. Fausto is a young dog showing confidence and social facility with reserve to standard.
