NorthWest K9 is located at the foot of
magnificent Mt. Rainier near Enumclaw, Washington.
Our 5-acre Bar K Ranch and our indoor Training Center are both conveniently located less than an hour's drive
from downtown Seattle or Bellevue and from SeaTac International Airport, and
within ready access from major metropolitan areas throughout the Pacific Northwest.
|
| Forest wilderness
extending to the Cascade Crest and beyond begins at the trailhead at the border of our training field.
We're a stone's throw from some of Washington State's most spectacular forest
holdings, wilderness trails, national parks, fresh water lakes and whitewater rivers, and a full array of
terrain from mountain pass to lowland valley.

All foundation training program dogs and
client-owned Board and Train dogs are welcome members of the household and spend most of their time in our home
while they are in program. Our facilities include an indoor/outdoor kennel, outdoor training arena, grass tracking and
agility fields, and a separate indoor training center for private lessons
and group seminars. Two miles of forested trail around the fresh water lake adjacent to our property provides
ready access for swimming and water retrieval training.
|
| Our primary training venue is the real world.
We tap the best of both worlds, urban and rural. Enjoying
the wide open spaces of our rural location, we also have ready access to urban metropolitan centers
to comprehensively test, socialize, environmentally condition, train, and proof the dogs in training.
|
 |
 |
Our unique location provides unlimited opportunities to challenge and strengthen the temperament, nerve, athleticism,
hardiness, and work ethic of our program dogs in training. Client-owned dogs benefit from the many new environmental
experiences, and for those dogs where socialization and good citizenship out and about in public are key
behavioral issues, owners benefit significantly from the opportunity to work with their dog out in public
in structured, private lessons under the direct supervision of an experienced trainer.
|
| We experience some of
the most extreme climactic variations in the USA, including the NorthWest's well-known rain; phenomenal thunder and
lightning storms; hurricane force winds barrelling over the Cascades; snow,
sleet, and hail; and
temperatures ranging from subfreezing in Winter to Summer temperatures in the nineties.
|
 |
 |
Creative opportunities abound for tracking and trailing training.
Footstep tracking in driving horizontal rain and standing water in a state park meadow, or on a warm summer day along the
parkway adjacent to highway traffic, can easily evolve to mantrailing in forested wilderness or an urban business park.
|
| From international airport to open pit mine, from a
livestock exposition by day to a busy metropolitan intersection by night, from mountaintop ski lift to
inner city train station, from balmy sunshine to a drumming hailstorm -- we've got it all in this corner of the Pacific Northwest.

NorthWest K9
Program dogs train in an unlimited variety of terrain, climate, population, and environmental sounds, scents,
surfaces, and obstacles to ensure that they will confidently handle anything they'll encounter when in service
in the world at large.
|
| NorthWest K9
We're so convinced of the value of real world applications, we insist that potential purchasers evaluate NorthWest K9
program dogs at off-site locations selected by the purchaser, away from the dog's familiar
surroundings and comfort zone. We're confident of the confidence of our dogs.
